Job Purpose
Apply paint, vinyl and wallpaper including special papers and fabrics to walls furniture and structures.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Washes scrapes, sands, and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
  2. Installs, repairs, and maintains drywalls, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
  3. Erects various types, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for Painters and others.
  4. Examine and maintain painted exterior and interior painted surfaces, trimming and fixtures.
  5. Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes.
  6. Determine, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls.
  7. Cover Interior walls and ceilings with wallpaper or fabrics.
  8. Maintain logs of work performed.
  9. Submit finished work orders to supervisor.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
  1. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade. Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
  2. Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
  3. Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces

Requirements

Education
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Six years of painting experience; Or, Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
